yarns for dyeing
Louet's Le Bouffon has approximately 245 yards per pound.
Lanolin-rich & sweetly sheepy-smelling in the dyeing skein, this thick and thin 100% wool yarn looks suspiciously like Colinette Point Five or Berroco's Hip Hop (although those two yarns have different stated gauges according to an internet search, they look the same to me).
The hanks I have in stock have weighed in at over a pound, around 19 oz, and I measured a skein without tension after dyeing and came up with approximately 258 yards. Great for quick knits & other fun projects.

Louet's GEMS "Pearl" fingering weight dyeing hank of machine washable 100% merino wool. Great to work with and just sucks up the dye (and looks just like Koigu's KPPPM yarn). The half pound dyeing skein contains approximately 875 yards, enough for two pairs of socks, or lots of lace. TEMPORARILY OUT OF STOCK AND BACKORDERED (got it in and sold out even before updating)

$22.00
Louet's GEMS "Opal" sport weight 3 ply machine washable 100% merino wool is soft, durable, and loves to play in the dyebath. Approximately 520 yards per 8 oz. dye hank. A high angle of ply makes this a bouncy, excellent yarn for relatively qiuick-knitting socks.
$22.00
Louet's GEMS "Topaz" worsted weight machine washable 100% merino wool is soft, durable, and loves to play in the dyebath. At 800 yards per pound it's on the chunkier side of worsted and each 8 oz. dyeing skein will have around 400 yards. A very versatile yarn.
$22.00
A sexy 50% silk, 50% wool worsted weight yarn, each 100 gram skein equals about 205 yards.
Perfect to dye your own yarn for a Clapotis scarf.
$21.00
Louet's "Montagu" is a miniloop bouclé of mohair, silk, and nylon for binder. The loops are delicately sized and it has a lovely sheen and softness, natural and after dyeing. At 2125 yards per pound, the half pound dyeing skein has approximately 1,062.5 yards.
$20.00
Louet's "Sabie" is a 78% mohair, 13% wool, and 9% nylon kid mohair bouclé. The loops are fairly large and it has a lovely sheen, natural and after dyeing. At 985 yards per pound, the half pound dyeing skein has approximately 492.5 yards.
$20.00
Louet's "Kid Mohair" is a very fine 70% kid mohair, 30% nylon brushed mohair yarn with a stunning 4,500 yards per pound. The 8 oz. dyeing hanks will have roughly 2,250 yards. A lot of fun to dye, but take care to tie twice as many figure 8 at various points than you usually do...to untangle this would not be fun for even the most neutotic knot-loving detangler.
