The Louet Victoria Lighter and more compact than any other, affordable & with Louet's solid, maintenance free style |
|
The Louet Victoria folds up to fit into this little bag which can be carried on the back, in the hand like an assassin's violin case, or saucily off the shoulder.

It is lighter and more compact than any other portable spinning wheel on the market, and is cheaper than the Lendrum, Ashford Joy, or Majacraft Gem.
The price includes the carrying bag, and of course, shipping, for as low as $625.
The wheel is named "Victoria" for the granddaughter of Jan Louet, and here is my favorite description of a wheel's size and weight:
"The nine month of developing the S95 coincide[d] with the developing of my first grand child and when she was born on the 14th of April, the S95 became more or less a final proto type. Just as my grand child the prototype weighted 3,5 kg and measured about 50 cm long. Folded, the S95 is still longer than Victoria, my grand child, when she folds herself."br>

The technical specs description is this:
br>
"Folded the Victoria now measures 55 x 36 x 14 cm and weights 3,5 kg. Unlike the development of my grand daughter this will be the final seizes of the S95. The Victoria now fits precisely in the bag that we choose for it. This bag can be carried as a hand bag, a shoulder bag or a back pack. It contains a lazy kate with two extra bobbins. The overall weight is 5,2 kg. Because of the larger wheel and not changing the pulley, the ratio’s became higher, but Victoria’s from production series will have ratio’s varying from ca. 1:6 to 1:14. Later on we will develop a high speed set for ratio’s higher than 1:20."br> It is available in Oak and Beech wood. br>
I have one in Oak and love it. As a portable wheel, for workshops and get togethers, it blows my Lendrum out of the water.
More pictures here (these pics give a better idea of scale if you don't see the world measured in metric, and also show that the S95/Victoria is pretty much a folding S45 at half the price) and discussion (of the Louet Victoria and other portable spinning wheels) can be found here.
